I’ve been trying to shoot more portraits this year. The first one is from the Scotland trip I mentioned before: Nathan Andrews about to spend half an hour attempting to cook a can of beans on the fire you see reflected in his glasses. The second is Melia exploring an derelict military fort off the Kent coast, looking back down one of the slits they would’ve shot out of to defend the British Empire from Napoleon (who himself ended up exiled out at sea). Not that you’d know any of that context from the photos, but I think they’d be different without it.
