OK… So I’m sure a lot of you guys have heard the devastating news about Flo Skatepark in Nottingham having to close it’s doors to the public. The message on their FB page was a massive shock to everyone in the BMX, Skate, Inline & Scooter communities. The people who were involved in the place & anyone who visits Flo regularly must be gutted to say the least.
If you didn’t catch the statement they posted on their page the other day then here it is…
“Unfortunately as of today Flo Skatepark is no longer trading, the gates will be closed as of today. In part this is due to increasing competition from outdoor parks and also a lack of support from our local community. Flo Skateparks thanks our regular customers and we are disappointed that it has come to this.”

There is light at the end of the tunnel though and the fat lady seems to have lost her voice for the moment…
It’s the final round, Flo have been knocked down but they’re certainly not out for the count just yet! I’ll explain why… While I was flicking through my news feed I happened to stumble across a page called ‘Fund For Flo Nottingham‘ which was opened in order to help raise money to fund the reopening of Flo and to get it back on it’s feet again. CRACKING IDEA! I’m sure that any donations, fund raising ideas or input would be greatly appreciated by them so please do us a solid and head over to their page above & give them a like and support this brilliant cause.
I also noticed another status on Facebook from the guys at Flo which read, “We are working to get the place back open, 10-12 days watch this space…”
So yeah, things are certainly looking up! – You guys really do make the difference in matters like these and without you amazing indoor skateparks like Flo wouldn’t exist any longer and would probably be turned into an ASDA warehouse, a multi-storey carpark or something along those lines…
We don’t want that to happen of course! So if you’re posting a status, picture or anything whatsoever about Flo then just simply whack the #FUNDFORFLO hashtag in there and it’ll help keep all the positive shit together in one place!
The staff here at Ride UK BMX thank you for this and greatly appreciate it in advance.
