This is absolutely amazing! I spotted this article over on the Business Insider website and just had to show you guys… Lifelong skater & photographer Richard Gilligan decided to embark on an epic journey around the world to experience, photograph and document as many DIY Skateparks as he possibly could. Richard visited a few spots which started their life as just a normal DIY wasteland then the council decided to take over and transform it into a well-maintained ‘legit’ skatepark. Some spots you’ll know right-away like the infamous FDR Skatepark in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Flora Bowl in Hamburg, Germany. There’s even a few close to home such as; New Bird Skatepark in Liverpool & ‘Dick’s Bowl’ in Oxford.
