I’ve saved the best ’till last of course… When Standard Bykes made the STA 500 it was an absolute STREET MACHINE. Designed to take any kind of torture you could throw at it. Heavy as hell but no one cared about weight back then and lads around our way used to dream of buying a STA (STRONGER THAN ALL) 500 or a 250s (when they eventually dropped.)
My mate Jamie (R.I.P) bought a Standard TRLS 250s Ox Plat second-hand from a friend and built it up, I remember that bike getting put through so much torture and it still held up for years and is still rolling to this day! So yeah, two frames by Standard Bykes to finish up our feature.
