FRIDAY RANDOMS: Garage Find BMX Projects

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these #FRIDAYRANDOMS features so I thought it’d be sick to kick things off with something a little different. The idea came about after stumbling upon a rather rare 1974 Raleigh Chopper advertised for sale on eBay. After checking it out, the thought of starting a project of my own was instantly on my mind so I quickly began searching the t’interweb for other rad and unique BMX projects, here’s what I found…

1974 Chopper – With Honda Engine.

This 1974 Raleigh Chopper is equipped with a Honda nc50 Express engine which was originally designed and fitted to one of Honda’s early motorised push bikes back in 1977. This thing looks so rad and I bet it goes like shit off a stick! If you’d like to bid on it, hit up the link below…

Tandem BMX – Luke Earl.

This tandem BMX looks like too much fun! I’m pretty sure we’ve seen some footage of a couple riders hitting ramps on something similar before and it seems like riding this with a mate would bring hour upon hour of sheer enjoyment. Luke Earl gets the credit for this beauty, what a steed!

Lowrider With An Engine!

This awesome DIY Lowrider project landed in our inbox and it was absolutely perfect for this feature. Louis Robinson is the creator of this quality whip and he added, “It’s an old lowrider just converted with bmx bars and forks the things pretty fun it’s drifts good and pulls like a train”

DIY BMX Sidecar.

Here’s another one for you guys… Sidecars are quite common on motorbikes and they’re pretty handy for carrying passengers who haven’t got their own ride but they want to experience the fun. I spotted this sick lookin’ BMX sidecar and thought it looked like heaps of fun, and I can imagine it’s pretty damn dangerous too! I don’t think it’d stop many of us from tagging along for the ride though. Would you trust your best mate to ride this thing?

Winter Is Here.

It’s that time of year again, and a lot of BMXers get to work as soon as the crap weather comes in, making a  ‘Ski Bike’ to be ready for that cold white stuff to hit the ground is a plan and a half! Snow usually sucks for us riders, but with a little bit of ingenuity and know-how you could turn a negative into a positive. Hit up this link for a handy YouTube tutorial on how to build your own Ski Bike and don’t forget to send us your results!
