2012 Round Up – Johnny Elia

Johnny Elia is our internets king. He runs this site along with taking care of filming projects and updating our array of social networks. Tom from Myspace once offered him a job, but he was too street to take it. I’m lying, here’s his 2012 round up..

What one rider stood out for you in 2012?

Well this is not easy to pick just one, there’s so many riders that stood out for me. But one person I am going to mention is Martyn Tambling. I got the chance to meet him and film with him at the beginning of the year and it was an absolute pleasure. We all know he can ride a bike! But for a lot of us, like myself with a full time job, a misses and all that, we find it hard to ride as much as we used to. Going to California this year was a moment in itself, but after myself and Beddows being awake for over 24 hours, arriving at LAX airport and turning up to the car rental place to pick up a 16 seating van – there was a problem. We waited for around for 3 hours, the place we had to drive to was 3 hours away and in our desperate need to sleep we decided to hire a car and pick up the van another day. And there we was… Driving into the Los Angeles sunset in a pretty nice 426 horsepower, red Chevrolet Camaro like it was a scene out of the film ‘Drive’. Myself and Beddows looked at each other and laughed, I said – ‘never did I think when I started riding BMX that I would be doing this…”
