10 ROOF DROPS: THE FULL EDITS

I may sound like I’m stuck in the 90’s but it always blew my mind when I saw riders hurtling towards the end of a roof, simply not giving a shit and SENDING IT! Always amazing when it works out but the bails were usually the worst to watch. This article could have easily been all about Sean Burns and the Bone Deth guys’ roof drops, and yes if you are wondering… I did stick a couple of Burns clips in there, but also decided to mix it up a bit and feature a few classics/crazy drops from recent edits and a few of your favourites via our RideUKBMX Group too.

Sean Burns – Osiris 2013

I guess it’s fair to say that Sean Burns is the undisputed king of roof drops, he’s been featured twice in this video and that’s fair enough because I could’ve easily made a full compilation of Top 10 Sean Burns Roof Drops out of clips from his edits. The dude is an absolute machine who doesn’t have a chill switch. This insane ender nose bonk to roof drop from his Osiris 2013 part is too good. There’s a bunch of others I wanted to put in, but I guess I’ll save those for part 2…

Tom Dugan – Full Throttle.

Tom Dugan‘s Etnies – Full Throttle edit is still incredible to look back at even now, the huge drops, gaps and massive airs in this blow the mind still! Loved this roof drop at 2:14 so much I just had to feature it.

Eli Taylor – Fiend x OGCBMX.

Massive respect for this one from Eli Taylor at the start of his Fiend x OGCBMX edit. He busts his wheel on the first attempt then uses a mate’s bike to finish the job after taking quite a few harsh landings, the timing of “if you like pina coladas” is quality also.

Jeff Landtiser – Building The Underground Part.

I remember seeing this video many years back and the roof drop gap at the end of Jeff Landtiser’s Building The Underground part was one of the craziest things ever. Executed with style and a perfect landing, quick rock fingers to the camera then an exit from any security guards.

Gav Shortall – Proper Picture Box.

I remember seeing the sequence shot of Gav Shortall tanking-it off a church roof during the Proper – Picture Box DVD (UK Section) at 4:17 and always thought it was so rad!

Dale Armstrong – WYPT SideA.

Dale Armstrong is no stranger to a HUGE drop and this one from the roof of St George’s Hall at 4:46 straight into traffic in his West Yorkshire Peg Torture section.

Sean Burns – Surfin For The Ugly Broads.

I told you Sean Burns was gonna feature more than once and here’s the second mental roof drop we had in our compilation vid, it’s more of a roof gap/drop to be honest but it was so burly we had to share! Ender in Bone Deth Surfin For The Ugly Broads.

Max Wood – RTG 2012.

Ride To Glory 2012 will always be a classic, heavy crews sending it all over the UK & Europe. Proper Bike Co‘s Max Wood stepped up to do this gnarly roof drop into a steep as hell bank at 8:29.

Robbie Nelson – Bone Deth.

Gnarly fast roof drops, leather jacket, studs, rail hops… Pretty much everything you’d expect from a Bone Deth edit and more. Robbie Nelson banged some unbelieveable stuff out in this edit and the roof drop at 1:00 we featured in the compilation vid was definitely one of em!

Garrett Byrnes – Seek & Destroy

Little Devil – Seek & Destroy will forever be one of my favourite BMX videos and Garrett Byrnes ending his section with this insane roof drop was something I’d never forget, had to put this one in here! What a legend.
