Cam Peake: Eighteen

South France to Spain

Video and Photography by: Florent Lamour

Cam Peake took his last chance to head out to the warmer climates of South France to film this solo edit, before the winter sets in. We spoke to Cam to get the full story behind the trip.

Name: Cam Peake
Age: 18
Hometown: Ibstock, Leicestershire (but live in South Nottinghamshire now)
Years Riding: About 4
Sponsors: EXTREME, Profile Racing, Coyote sports, Pentagon sports, Wizeloop Freestyle Network.

Why did you decide to go to travel through South France and Spain? Does the English Climate not agree with you?

I have had a couple of Indoor parks edits out before and not done a full edit since June 2014. So I wanted this to be a bit different for me, and show who I am as a rider now. I feel like I’ve progressed and matured as a rider, through going in so many different places for contests and riding so many sketchy ramps haha! It has actually helped my riding loads.

During 2015 I have visited France and Spain for contests and really wanted to re-visit a few places and discover a few more so that’s really why I chose to go there. I went to Club Eurocamp for the first time back in June and knew I wanted to film some of my edit there and my videographer Florent Lamour is from the West coast of France so it just seemed a good idea to start near his and drive through southern France to Barcelona. Plus the weather is pretty shit in England!!

Tell us something unexpected that happened on this trip??

To ride dirt, I don’t usually ride it but Barcelona has such a sikkk set up at La Poma that I really wanted to get a couple of clips there. I found an unexpected love for riding dirt and will definitely keep on it.

How’s the wine in Bordeaux??

Haha! I don’t drink. But I’m going back next week for a contest and I think we’re going to a vineyard, so I’ll tell you then.

Did you manage to escape Barcelona without getting pick pocketed or fined by the police?

Yeah we did good, was a bit worried as we got the heads up from Axel at Eurocamp that a load of bikes had been stolen out of a van in the city, so with all of Florent’s equipment we had to be careful where we parked up!!

What was the worst thing you ate?

Snotty egg omelette haha! I like mine well done….

You’re on the Profile Europe UK shop tour right now. How’s that going?

It’s good to be on the road with the guys from Profile, our first get together as a team with a new TM so really enjoying it. If I’m honest not enough riding for me as I do tend to do between 3 and 8 hrs a day, but it is a shop tour I guess haha! And its good to go to the local bike shops and see them all #supportyourlocalshop.

We end the Tour at Prevail skatepark on Friday so hoping for a good session with the guys and anyone else that joins us.

Any Thanks?

I’ll keep it brief. Huge thanks to my sponsors, especially EXTREME for helping me out with this edit and making it possible. To Adrenaline Alley, FLO, Terminal 1, Decade Europe Ltd, RIDE 100%, Urban Air BMX Shop for your support and everyone else that supports me and follows my riding, it means a lot.

Must give the my biggest thanks to my mum and dad, they have always been supportive of my dreams from a young age and really help me along the way!! Cheers guys.
