Newhaven Pumptrack is one of those places that you share a clip from on Instagram and the number one response you get is “Where is that?”
Yes, it’s a real spectacle the first time you’re there, a sea of tarmac waves in and amongst green grass. Quite different to a white concrete skatepark… But you can also find that here.
Newhaven is one of the bigger pump tracks I’ve seen in the UK and consists of 2 sections: the upper section is a smaller simple pump track and the lower section is bigger, faster and more technical with transfers galore. The run in starts by dropping down from the upper level giving you a ton of speed, which means the first straight is FAST. After this there is a series of berms and rollers. There are options to keep on going or pull out at various points but this track will really get the cardio going.
The skatepark is a lot smaller, based off an open bowl with a few banks and quarters that lead into a half bowl set up of quarters.
Something to note here is that there is a built in pump, tool kit and bike stand at the park which all work (as of this going live), free parking and food just up the road. Not far from another new skatepark in Seaford too.
