4Motion in Darlington has been a staple indoor skatepark in the north of England for many years now. When I saw that the lads at Monolith (the ramp builders who built Asylum and many Red Bull projects like the recent Red Bull Featured) were involved, I knew I had to get myself there.
I headed up with Ben Towle to meet Alan’s shop riders Tom Cookson, Pawel Piotrowski and John Gav to see what it was all about.
The street section has had a full rebuild whilst the park side has just had a few tweaks. The street section is what we were there for. They have done an excellent job on this we all thought. It’s well spaced out so that it doesn’t feel cramped and the ramp and rail height works really well. They are small enough to give you confidence but still big enough to have a proper session on and get sendy. There is a good variety of ramps, rails and ledges. For both stances of riders.
Everyone had a great session and we all really enjoyed the set up. I will definitely be going back as soon as possible.
