OVERSPILL: 50 Photos we couldn’t fit into Issue 200

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS.  Issue 200 was big.  We wanted it to be as big as possible, obviously.  It’s not every day you get to put a number 200 on the cover.  We made the mag up to a whopping 148 pages, featured no less than eleven UK crews, packed in as many riders as we could (60+), got input from even more heads because… more is more. Strength in numbers, after all.

But there is a limit.  You have to carefully choose which images to run in print, there has to be a pretty tight selection.  Even though our photographers and riders delivered nothing but worthy images, there has to be a number of them left on the cutting room floor.

That brings us to now – a chance to appreciate some of the excellent images that weren’t chosen for print.  Does this mean these are inferior shots?  Not exactly.  Sometimes photos are chosen or left out depending on the aesthetics of the layout, sometimes the riding might be technically strong but the actual photo capture is lacking, sometimes it’s the other way around.  Often multiple tricks are shot from the same angle, and for variety we choose one over another.  Whichever way you approach it, it’s pretty sweet that we’ve got 50 photos here that we’re excited to show you.  FIFTY!  Let’s go…
