Today was all about the BMX park final which went off. Gary Young took the gold and rightly so. It’s incredible just how long he’s been killing it and still he’s on hand to clear up at X Games. Congrats dude.. Here’s a quick rundown of events.

 T Shirt of the day for sure. It’s saying “Russian Doll of BMX” I’m layered, come and un wrap me. Or something??

 If it’s put there on a plate, I’m going to take it. Red Bull VIP lounge, free beer and nibbles.

 We stopped by the Freestyle Moto X event, it’s pretty clear to see that these guys have taken the WOW factor from BMX dirt. While this stuff is happening I’m not sure BMX dirt contests stand a chance. This is just way too epic for the general public, they loved it.

 The showmen rev around the track like peacocks looking for instant intercourse. To be fair they were unreal. The BMX world somehow needs to use this to their advantage when selling complete bikes to little kids. Not sure how this can be achieved, if I had the answers I’d be a millionaire, ish…

 The Red Bull portable sky scraper offered up some incredible views of the park course during the finals. I kinda missed everything as I was eating all their great food and drinking lots of their delicious free beer. You can take the lad out of BMX but….

 What I did watch though was Gary Young clinching an X Games gold medal. He was awesome, such a great ambassador for BMX. Love him.

 Dig Mag’s Fred Murray kept us company in the media lounge today. Did you know Fred has NEVER had a cup of tea. Let me repeat that. Fred Murray has NEVER had a cup of tea. Someone seriously needs to get the kettle on, the poor lad much be parched.
