Wow – it looks like we really got used to getting up early without any help of electronic devices. Everyone was a bit sore from the last two days and still a bit jetlagged – so we chilled till 2pm. But instead of hanging out we wanted to "kill some time" with some typical tourist stuff. As we were supposed to meet a friend for some street riding around Hollywood we got there a bit earlier to check out Hollywood Hills and the view downtown LA. Pretty neat.
Hollywood baby!
The street session got cancled so needed to come up with a plan B in that area to avoid busy traffic back towards OC. There was supposed to be a good park (The Cove) with a bmx evening that day in Santa Monica so we gave it a try.
Arriving there the park looked awesome but then we faced some heavy duty crap in terms of getting a full year membership to ride, Bruno wasnt able to ride due to his age, no filming, no photo, visitors (just watching) needed to wear helmets too and on top of it the cracked and iced up something at the front desk was too hard to deal with, lets say it that way to stay respectful. So, great park with shitty rules and people!
Alex Baret wearing a helmet to film?
Ok, after plan B didnt work out we were facing plan C. got in the van back to Orange to hit up the Vans Skatepark for an indoor bmx evening. The park was great and thanks to Choq at Vans we didnt need to deal with any crazy rules. Dont get me wrong, rules can be good, but sometimes senceless too. My fav thing was to see Alex Baret, our filmer, being asked to wear a helmet. Haha, so good. He never wears helmets on a bike but now was wearing one for filming.
Call it a day for day 3 – stay tuned for day 4!
