Bike Stacks… Where do I begin? It’s probably something each and every BMXer has done at least once in their lifetime and it all basically boils down to two different reasons…
1) Security: The more sensible rider will realise that if all of the bikes are locked together, then they become a considerably harder task for opportunistic thieving chavs looking to make a quick few quid for their gear, most-definitely harder to pinch!
2) Fun: It’s always a bit of a giggle when you’re out street-riding with your mates, at the trails next to a fire with nothing better to do, in the local park after a chilled session, outside of a shop, or wherever you are for that matter! It’s always fun to mess-about and see how high you can pile your bikes up. You’ll find that there’s always one or two of your mates who are too pussy to do it because they’ll scratch their shiny new parts but the majority just fling their bikes together for the crack!
I’m pretty hard-pushed to find any other reasons why people may do this random act and create a massive metal beauty (or monstrosity depending on how you look at it) but maybe you guys have some stories to tell us, feel free to drop us an inbox with your bike stacks and stories via our Facebook Page.
Cleggy spotted this sweet bike stack yesterday on the Beresford BMX Instagram page.
And it looks like these guys may have one-up’d them!
Here’s another user-submission including skateboards & scooters (urgh.)
Crucial BMX Shop definitely like to stack their bikes high!
I can only assume the whole skatepark donated their bikes to this project.
Pretty awful attempt at a bike stack, more effort required.
What in the hell? A bunch of random bikes in a pretty random place.
Finally we have a bunch of bikes which were recovered by Manchester Police from some serial bike thief!
