Skittle crazed Scotty Hamlin has recently changed sponsors from Demolition and Scoop BMX to Eastern Bikes. See what he’s got to say for himself below, along with a few photos of his new whip.
It has been 2 years now riding for Demolition and Scoop Distribution and I have to say it has been a blast. They looked after me whilst I broke my shoulder at NASS in 2008 and we have been on many trips around the world including Germany and Estonia. Its really felt like a family to me. Though, as families go the kids eventually head in their own direction and move forwards. With that said, my new job working at Split Second Imports in Cheddar gave me a few connections that soon turned out to be an insane offer that I just could not refuse. Also I am still on Alienation full team as my main sponsor.
And as of the last few weeks after lots of waiting for parts due to the air disaster I am now fully supported directly through Eastern Bikes and BMX-Shop.com.
My new ride is awesome, it’s light, It’s tough, its clever and with all the gadgets, such as micro inbuilt chain tensioners and unique tubing. The bike is like Knight Rider pretty much. I chose the white colour scheme ‘cus it makes me look like I got loads of money and gangster and I just thought it was a bit more subtle than a bright orange bike with green jeans that don’t match. Speaking of which Eastern have also sent me a ton of new cool clothing to complete my look as a gangster, with some flat caps and even a Tank top… No more ties and shirts if I can help it. *laugh to myself as I say that*
So be sure to see me at NASS hitting the Goliath, and of course Ill have a costume on with my partner in crime Matt Cable!
I’d like to thank everyone at Split Second for all the support and all the boys over at Eastern Bikes. I can’t wait to see where they take me and where I end up.
Thanks again everyone. Can’t wait to see all the English dudes again after being in cold Poland for so long. Holla
