Tickets for the world’s most progressive BMX contest, Red Bull Empire of Dirt, will today go on sale at www.redbull.co.uk/empireofdirt. Priced at just £5 per day, this is a fantastic opportunity to see the world’s best BMX riders taking on the huge course that will be built at London’s Alexandra Palace for the competition. 36 riders will compete on Saturday 19th May to win one of 16 places in the final rounds which will take place on Sunday 20th May.

Red Bull Empire of Dirt is a BMX slope style contest which aims to find the most well rounded rider from the various disciplines of BMX. The 2012 event will see the world’s elite battle it out in front of an expected crowd of 10,000 people on the course overlooking the London skyline, which will form an incredible backdrop during a big sporting year for the capital.

Speaking of the event British BMX legend Kye Forte said, “The last time Empire happened in 2008, the event was epic but not many people got to see it due to the location down in Devon. With the event being smack bang in the middle of London this time around, it gives the opportunity for so many more people to watch us tear up the huge course.”

Red Bull Empire of Dirt, which was first held in 2008 in Newton Abbot in Devon, was developed by Kye Forte and Red Bull to push the boundaries of BMX and challenge riders’ skills as never before; the 2012 edition will look to raise the bar once more.
