Official Press Release:
Red Bull are bringing a thrilling new BMX competition, Red Bull Featured, to Manchester Central in 2025. The event will bring together sixteen of the world’s most innovative BMX riders, invited to compete in a first-of-its-kind format with a custom-built park on a bigger and bolder scale.
Created by BMX legend and Red Bull athlete Sebastian Keep, the event’s format won’t penalise riders for falling, giving riders a platform to create history and attempt tricks never seen before in competition.
Sebastian Keep: “By stripping away the red tape, rules and limits typical of current competition formats, we want to deliver an event which inspires riders to push the boundaries, break new ground and innovate free of any restrictions or conventions. By not penalising riders for falls, at Red Bull Featured, we want every crash to be a step towards a world first, not a failure.”
“The competition consists of four individual features, all bigger and bolder than ever seen in a competitive setting. These include High Air, Sub Box, Quarter Pipe and Jump Box. Each feature will be independent and judged by four of the most esteemed in the industry, including Olympic Gold medalist Charlotte Worthington MBE, Olympic Bronze medalist Declan Brooks and recent Olympic Games Head Judge, David Cleworth.
Kieran Reilly, one of the most exciting young talents in the BMX world who is confirmed to be competing in the event, added: ““I’m excited to be involved in the first ever Red Bull Featured. Every time I ride, I’m trying to progress, develop and test the limit of what’s possible. Becoming the first person to land a Triple Flair last year has only made me hungrier to want to hit more milestones and to be able to do that in front of an audience in competition is hugely exciting and something completely different for fans to see.”
The full lineup of invited riders will be announced in January 2025, adding to the excitement and anticipation surrounding the event.
This groundbreaking event will take place at the iconic Manchester Central, a venue that perfectly blends the energy of urban culture with the thrilling pace of BMX action.
Fans can purchase early bird tickets at a discounted rate for the event taking place on April 12th 2025. There is a limited supply, and tickets are expected to sell out fast. General tickets are expected to go on sale in January.
