BMX lifer Mike O’Connell recently ran the inaugural Roll On Flatland jam at Portsmouths supermarket turned skatepark Pitt St. Read the full press release below.
“Pitt Street Skatepark in Portsmouth was the venue for the inaugural @rollonflatland jam. The once derelict food superstore has been converted into an amazing All Wheels, All Ages, All Skills, All Weather skatepark that now serves the community far and wide.
The idea of the Roll On Jam was the brain child of Freestyle bike rider Mike O’Connell, who whilst now in his 50’s still rides most days. “My desire was to give something back to the sport that has given me so much since I was ten years old, and be part of the solution” said Mike.
The event saw around 40 riders of all ages and skill levels enjoy a relaxed session followed by both Expert and Pro competitions.
