The Chad Kerley signature complete is the flagship model in the Premium Bikes range and is spec’d out to reflect just that. It’s got everything you’d expect on a top end complete and looks the part too with the full 4130 chromoly frame coming in at 20.8” TT suiting riders of all sizes. Though relatively understated in its looks, the CK has some cool features that definitely show its pedigree. Things like the embossed logo on the bars, the hourglass head tube and BB shell, and the heat-treated tapered stays and dropouts all point to a bike that will last. I particularly like the spline drive chainring, the 28/9 gearing and the switchable LHD/RHD hub depending on your preference. The bike comes in at a whisker under £900, which of course is quite a bit of money. But unlike many completes, this has it all ready to go without the need to change anything up, just as long as you’re happy with the length. As we all know, Chad is brakeless, so this comes with removable brake hardware as you’d expect – in fact, even his signature frame of the same name isn’t entirely lug-less, which always leaves you with options. The only thing that let the bike down, I thought, was the non-hinged Tektro lever. If you’re going to create a top end bike with easily removable brakes then why not put an easily removable lever on there too? It’s a very minor negative though and I’m sure 99% of these will have the brakes whipped off in no time!
