Boris Johnson was on hand to veto plans to abolish the historic Southbank skatepark. This is amazing news for BMXers and skateboarders alike. After skateboarders and supporters of Southbank delivered 27,286 planning objections to Lambeth Town Hall
they created the the most unpopular planning application in history. However the story is not at an end yet things are simply on hold. As Southbank Centre have now said that it is making a final search for “concrete and practical alternative ideas for funding the works” over the next three months with the Mayor’s Office, Lambeth Council and the skateboarders.
