Mongoose’s BMX bikes are trusted by some of the world’s best riders. Started in 1975 in a garage in southern California, the company has been in the dirt, on the trails and off the ramps for almost 40 years, producing durable products built for real riders.
Mongoose’s current freestyle BMX offering features the Legion range, beginning with the ‘L20’, ideal for smaller riders with a 20″ toptube, 20″ wheels, and a 7.5″ rise handlebar, and going all the way up to the flagship ‘L100’, with full cromoly frame, fork and 8.25″ rise handlebar, double wall rims, tubular cromo cranks on a 48-spline mid-sealed bearing BB, integrated headset and pivotal saddle.
Also available are a good range of different sized Legions – as well as 16” and 18” models, there is the distinctively-coloured ‘LXS’, featuring an 18″ top tube to provide a better fit for little riders who are ready for 20″ wheels without compromising on the overall BMX geometry. Included on the ‘LXS’ is a 36×16 drivetrain with 140mm crank arms, making power transfer easier for young riders.
The Mongoose Pro BMX team features some great talent, including Kevin Peraza, Steve McCann, Ben Wallace, Greg Illingworth and Paul Ryan. All members of the team ride the ‘Fraction’ model, featuring a full 4130 chromoly frame and tapered chromoly fork, and with a top quality parts kit featuring full chromoly 48-spline cranks, Sun Estate rims and Odyssey Chase Hawk grips.
