LOOKING FORWARD: What national & why

The votes are in

We asked some of the UK’s finest racers what HSBC British Cycling National venues they are looking forward the most and why…….

See who voted for what National below but here are the numbers –
Manchester – 2
Leicester – 18
Cyclopark – 7
Glasgow – 7
Telford – 3
Gosport – 5

Name – Beth Shriever

Sponsors – BVC Supercross Renthal Madison cycles Muc off

Bike – Supercross BLK Carbon

What National – Leicester

Why –  Well, I always look forward to racing at any national but I’m really looking forward to Leicester, I rode it the other day for the first time and I feel like it suited me and it’s great fun, also I think it’s going to be wicked for racing with the tight corners! And then Glasgow and gosport as they are both new tracks and I love to ride new tracks.

Name – Bethany Campbell

Sponsors – BMX Talk.com

Bike – Pure V5 BMXTalk Edition

What National – Leicester

Why – Because it’s my university city! I’ve rode the track and it suits me perfectly, and I always like having a new track in the National Series. Plus I’m sure Issitt will put on a good event… and rumour has it he’s hosting a BBQ at his that weekend (haha)

Name – Harley Taylor

Sponsors – Profile racing factory world team

Bike – Hyper

What National – Cyclopark

Why –  I’d say I’m looking forward to cyclopark the most because the tracks fast and technical and I haven’t raced there in a few years!

Name – Tian Isidore

Sponsors – Pure Bicycles

Bike – Pure

What National – Telford

Why –  It’s a tight track and made for some great racing in 2016!

Name – Oli Cutmore

Sponsors – Identiti Bikes, Halo Wheels, Gusset Components, TSG Protection, ODI Grips, HT Components

Bike – Identiti Krisis MX XXXXL (the long yellow one)

What National – Leicester

Why – Heard a lot of good things about the track and haven’t ridden there before.

Name – Scott Beaumont

Sponsors – USN, Dethleffs, Core Clinics, Silkolene, USE, Bell, HT, RRP, Datatag, O’Neal, ODI

Bike – TBC, 22″ tt carbon something. Just figuring it out!

What National – Telford

Why – It’s the only race I can attend in 2018 as all the others clash with 4X races. Plus the event in 2016 was really good.

Name – Julian “Jools” Allen

Sponsors – Identiti Bikes, Gusset Components, Halo Wheels, Ison Distribution, HT Components, TSG protection, 5.10 Shoes, Nik-Nak Engineering

Bike – Identiti Krisis MX Pro XL Team Edition

What National – Leicester

Why –  It’s always good to get too a new venue on the circuit and race new tracks. The track will make for some great racing through all the classes with it’s wide open straights and proper “race track” feel. The berms will be warfare!! This is Huncote Hornets first time running a national and I know they’re working hard to make a proper event of it. Having been in their position at Braintree I wish them all the best and look forward to a great weekend…….. #noaprilshowers

Name – Kye Whyte

Sponsors – GT World team-100+ Peckham Bmx-Edwards Bike

Bike – GT

What National – CycloPark

Why – The national in 2018 I’m looking forward to the most is Cyclopark, it’s a very technical track loads of room for mistake and can be very hard to race on because of extreme winds. I also like the fast bensink gate and the fast 3rd straight.

Name – Kelsey Dixon

Sponsors – Don’t have any, maybe my dad if he counts as a sponsor

Bike – Limited Edition Pink Speedco

What National – Leicester

Why – New track on the national circuit, only ever been there once and it’s a really nice track. Nothing too tricky and also a lot of fun. The track seems to be suitable for all ages which is good as none of the little guys will struggle around it unlike places such as the indoor! Think the Leicester club will hold a good national for sure

Name – Josh Butson

Sponsors – Purebikeco, maxxis_tyres, htcomponents, faith_race, phazebmx, b73tees, odigrips, alienationbmx

Bike – Pure v5

What National – Cyclopark

Why – I really like the track at Cyclopark and I’ve had some good results there in the past. Last year I threw away a podium with a silly mistake into turn 2, so I’m looking forward to the opportunity to rectify that. Having some new tracks on the calendar should be good also.

Name – Danny Taylor

Sponsors – DC Cycles/Colva/Cry Brand

Bike – Stay Strong V2

What National – Manchester indoor
