So GT’s Jason ‘The Madman’ Phelan is at it again. He’s been quietly working behind the scenes on a project he’s called ‘Loch Down’. Essentially, and in true Phelan style, he has gone in big. This time, as the name suggests, a Loch up where he lives in Scotland.
We’ll let the video do the talking, it’s as insane as we’ve grown to expect from the Irishman. We spoke to him about it earlier, and here’s 5 things you wouldn’t know without getting it direct from the man himself.
The project was supposed to be filmed in 2 weeks, but it got postponed for a week because of Jason nearly breaking all 5 toes – He’s still not sure if they’re broken or not. He needed more time off, but the budget wouldn’t allow for it.
Before this project, Jason had never dived before, well, a few nosedives on the bike, but that’s all. By the end, he’d gone 12 metres down in the cage. In classic Jason style, you’re apparently not supposed to be in the cage unless you’re a diver.
The professional divers from the academy made Jason look tame, apparently they’re 24/7 lunatics, they made Jason look professional. Unless they’re working, then they’re on point.
He tried the flip to pegs 3 times, and managed to fall in the water twice. He would’ve tried again, but boat had to go to work, so had to wrap it there as they say in showbiz.
Jason had to buy 3 sets of the same clothes – pants, socks the lot, just in case he fell in the water, which he did, twice.
