To be honest, when I was told that a Saracen was on its way to me I was expecting the worst. Images of square tubing, dinner plate drop outs and one piece cranks where haunting me the day before. But when the bike turned up I was really surprised. I know it’s a real cliché but it looked real good, especially for the price. It’s got everything on it that people are riding these days too! Bigger bars, 3 piece cranks, cassette hub on the back, good plastic pedals etc. Don’t get me wrong, its not the best complete bike on the market, but with the £290 price tag aiming at the beginner end of the market you get a really good deal.

You get everything you would want when covering all forms of riding styles. Front and back brakes and even 4 pegs. After I built up the bike I had a little ride on it myself. It felt good, It wasn’t too small or overly big for a smaller rider and there is plenty of room to cut the bars down if a smaller rider needed to. The bike held up great, the only thing that happened is that the back wheel moved when doing a sprocket stall. But who does those these days anyway right?

The grips where comfortable, the tyres where grippy and the cranks felt solid. The frame has got a sweet look with cut outs in the drop outs to save weight and a mid-low stand over height. Which is perfect for the smaller rider which this bike is obviously aimed at. Overall It’s a sweet looking bike and perfect for begginers or maybe as an upgrade from that old BMX that you bought off of your mate for £50 a year ago.

So you’ve read the review, now you want to WIN the bike! All you have to is answer the question below in the comments.
