Cornwall never disappoints. So the Dead Sailor Easter Jam at Mount Hawke is a no brainer. With camping spots, endless beaches and skateparks scattered throughout the most south west peak of the country a 4-day weekend never sounded so good.
After a 2 year forced hiatus, Dead Sailor bossman Pete finally had the opportunity to bring one of his yearly jams back. With riders like Tom Russell, Shaun Gornall, Martyn Tambling and more making an appearance it was nothing short of a good day.
The bowl jam kicked things off with everyone using every inch of the ramp, Aaron Wilson showing everyone that he’s definitely a local with his quick lines turning back into quarters and running lines that for anyone else wouldn’t work. Shaun Gornall was nearly reaching the top of the wall ride with his massive wall taps, Joe Parry sent the gap out of the bowl and into the jump line and Matt Harris was stying kickouts along the full length of the long quarter. Matt also took the high air comp, almost maxing out the 10ft hight pole with his classic one foot tables for good measure. The jump box jam consisted (as per usual) trains with all the crew, transferring back and forth and Tom Russell nose slashing the big (really big) vert wall.
All in all it was an amazing weekend with faces new and old, chilled but having it.
