Hello there Internet user. This is the first proper update from Team Mongoose on the Ride To Glory 2010 week. We have been living large in the bus travelling around Scotland, meeting awesome people and riding rad spots… We haven’t had a lot of electricity though, nor dongle signal, and when we do get access to these amenities the priority unfortunately is not daily updates… (it’s usually charging flashes and stupid phones made by Apple that last one day, followed by relentless Facebook checking). The bus is amazing though and certainly beats the time wasting involved with Hotels. Parking is a little problematic but we usually find somewhere!
We’ve been having a lot of fun too and people are sending themselves and ticking off the challenges. After a long day of shooting photos, hauling around the 25kg backpack and cracking the whip – the last thing I wanna do is sit on a computer for an hour… The route we’ve been shredding has been pretty dialled so far. Glasgow street and then Unit 23 was amazing, we seriously cannot thank those guys enough for their hospitality (Thanks Chick, Chaz and Conner!). Unit 23 is seriously the best indoor park in the UK. We then circled up to Inverness to tick off the Loch Ness challenge, unfortunately the only monster we got to see was when Phil defecated into a Tesco carrier bag… The photographer also had probably the biggest hissy-fit ever there too after some equipment/power failure. I’m sure some really ‘hilarious’ footage will probably end up on a certain Irish idiot’s website sometime soon…
We’re currently now in Aberdeen and are about to go ride some street. Aberdeen is seriously the shit, soooo many spots (Thanks Si for hooking us up and showing us loads of hilarious photos of Grant Smith naked). Maybe the Relentess team will end up here too..? – they’ve been everywhere else we’ve been. Paul Ryan has just come into the cafe I’m sitting in, at Transition Extreme Skatepark (which although is good is just not quite on par with the Unit) and told em we’ve just ticked off 2000 points in the skatepark… So who knows, maybe team MONG might even be in for a win..?
