BIKEPARK LA TRABA

The Bikepark La Traba is a pretty unique indoor park in Madrid. Actually… It’s the ONLY indoor park in Madrid. I know what you’re possibly thinking, who cares? The weather is always nice over there! Well let me shock you with this little piece of info… It’s not sunny weather there 24/7 and it does rain occasionally! That means when the rain comes down there’s literally nowhere for riders to go in Madrid. Sad news though… After years of hard graft and bearing in mind it’s the ONLY indoor park in Madrid as I mentioned above, the council want to tear the place down and kick everyone out. Major downer!

I’m sure a lot of us will be able to empathise with their situation and honestly, I nearly fuckin welled-up when I watched this and saw how gutted these guys were about it man! haha – I mean in the past, maybe you’ve found an old abandoned warehouse and turned it into a ghetto park, or a perfect plot of land to put in some work digging a set of trails, possibly even found a great wasteland to stick a rail and a few street jibs in, only to turn up one day and find out they’ve been levelled or you get told that they’re about to get ripped down. You’ll know it’s damn-hard work and everyone chips-in to put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into making it a great place to ride and chill out with your mates and It seems like The Bikepark La Traba has helped the local community a shit-load too and given kids a great, positive environment to better their skills in.
