Loose, rough around the edges and buzzing with energy.
The OCB x Curbside jam felt about as British as it could get… Everyone met on a cold wet day (that hadn’t forecast rain), under a motorway bridge, to drink beers, eat pizza and ride bikes on a DIY setup to celebrate MJ’s 30th birthday.
The day as a whole seemed to be non-stop organised chaos, with Bristol’s very own Chef directing the crowd and riders on the mic. Organised chaos in the sense that wherever Chef said the jam was, the people went, and everyone sent it. Cam Hardy & family supplied pizza for the masses and MJ was walking around dishing out prizes.
Some of the standout moments were… Tariq Haouche flying out of the polejam, Michael Attewell flairing the quarter after A LOT of petrol had been thrown on it, Bomber light a cig off the floor mid jam, Nathan Goring, Marlboro Pete and Matt Harris effortlessly destroying the super tight/wet quarter, Tariq, Michael, Emma Silva (and everyone else it seemed) sending it at the make shift death-box.
The day concluded with Bonedeth (Michael Attewell) rightfully being crowned ‘King of Curbside’ after sending himself at every obstacle throughout the day.
Same time next year?
