Ride to Glory

Soundcheck – Chris Gordon

Chris Gordon is the designer/art director of Ride magazine. Here are his top five tunes…

The Highwaymen – Highwayman (Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson) – What’s better than one country legend? Four- thats what, all on one song. its like making out with a girl at a house party and then she says to you “you know, my friend really likes you too…” and you notice she has been standing next to you both for the whole time.

NOFX – Dont call me white – This is a pretty ‘uncool’ choice but 90’s pop punk is a guilty pleasure of mine. When the guy in sales with baggy jeans puts ‘Dude Ranch’ on the office stereo I will put my headphones on and scowl like I’m listening to some band he has never heard of but they are not plugged in and my feet are tapping under the desk. Also, every time I hear this song i get the picture in my head of Shaun Butler bailing big stiff 360’s, what can be better?

Bright Eyes – Hot Knives – I have near all of Bright Eyes’ songs, 11.5 hours worth, i tried to listen to them all back to back once with only a bottle of scotch as company, needless to say I didn’t make it (approx 6 hours).

Drive by Truckers – Outfit – Not so much a song but a code to live by…

Tilly and the Wall – Falling without knowing – How can you not love a band with 3 cute girls who tap dance rather than have a drummer?
