At the age of just 21, Bruno Hoffmann is already one of the biggest names in BMX and the leader of a new school of Street riding. Sponsored by brands such as Federal, Vans, Red Bull, The Con, People Store and Cinema Wheel Co, he has trademarked a distinctive style involving a mixture of power, flow and technical ability.
Born in the German town of Siegen, Bruno began riding when he was eight years old with the support of his parents, and was soon attracting media attention from around Germany and further afield. Influenced by riders such as Garrett Reynolds and Chase Hawk, he burst onto the pro scene as a 14-year-old and was soon securing consistently high finishes at every contest he entered.
In recent years, he has impressed the judges in Park and Street competitions at FISE, Simple Session, Vans Rebeljam and the German Open. Among his victories has been the Street competitions at the 2010 Red Bull Trick or Treat event and at the 2012 BMX Worlds in Cologne. Other impressive results include third place on the Dew Tour in 2012, and second in BMX Street at the 2013 X Games in Barcelona.
He has also released a number of super-stylish riding edits, such as 2013’s ‘White City’, filmed by Richard Forne in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv. His skills are constantly evolving as he picks up new moves from his friends in the parks and streets back home in Siegen, and he is definitely one to watch over the coming years.
