Our man in the Baltics Toms Siliņš sent this edit over and we were pretty damn impressed... I hadn't heard the name Janis Bauska before, but after this video I'll be sure to pay more attention!
Janis spent the winter in a local DIY skatepark in Riga, Latvia, coming up with all manner of technical jib clips... But man, these lines look so hard. Janis keeps it stylish and locks down some really technically demanding moves on setups that, you can assume, are far from perfect.
Almost every clip in this edit is super impressive. Particular favourites for me were the G-turn to ice on the ledge, oppo hanger to late ice / crook, the snaggletooth and of course that ender... Not many dudes out there are doing that trick.
I also loved the video work here by Arturs Lurins – a classic tune, grainy black and white footage, dialled filming, nice cut. These guys know what they're doing!
Janis Bauska is the perfect example of a heavily underrated rider. He is often labeled as one to stick with bumps and jibs, but that is not all there is to his riding. The truth is Janis can go big, get tech and flow transition - he can do it all! Before spring and warm weather graced us here in the Baltics, he managed to shut down his favourite winter escape - a DIY skatepark in Riga. JIB BIG!

Subrosa Brand, the brainchild of Ryan Sher, came out strong back in 2006 with a solid line of products that got everyone’s attention. Their bold design aspects have remained true to this day and they now support a pretty damn savage team.
