4. China Town Ledges
This spot has been around for a while but has only become more accessible recently with the area becoming slightly more open minded to BMX. It’s on the outside of a rough little estate and at first was the only nice thing the locals had to look at. They hated anyone disrespecting it and peg damage to their new walls was right up there! It’s been around for a while now and the majority of locals find it interesting to watch us ride here, although there is a constant crew of lads hanging round in the park looking dodgy and ready to laugh at you if you deck it. You tend to get kicked off by the Police if you ride it late in the evening as locals don’t like the noise but otherwise as long as you don’t lose sight of your belongings you should be good. The walls are super waxed-up and the floor real smooth so be sure to check this place out.
5. Fact Ledge
This is where I start riding pretty much everyday! The ledge has 2 sides, the road side can be ridden anytime in the day or night and the lower side with the 2 tier ledges can only be ridden after 6 pm weekdays or at the weekend. You can get away with quick sessions on the lower part but the building that owns that part tends to call the police.
It’s waxed up to fuck and is opposite a bar and a coffee shop so pretty much all needs are met here. I think Bengo owns this ledge with his epic toothy hanger the full length of it (excluding the curve). Big shout-out to Owain Clegg, Carhartt, the Boneyard and FACT cinema for putting some ramps here as part of the bicycle film festival a few weeks ago…such a good session!
6. Cobble Quarters
This is probably the OG Liverpool spot, if you have come to Liverpool odds are you have ridden this spot! Street jams regularly come through here and so many tricks have gone down on it. It’s actually insanely hard to ride as the quarters are only 5 foot high with a foot of that being vert, the run-up is rough as fuck cobbles and the top of them is only a foot wide, so if you go over the other- side you’re gonna know about it! Seeing people like Big G carve 4 foot table and turndown airs is probably my favourite memory of this spot but Harry Main takes the cake when he flaired it a few years ago.Security here isn’t normally an issue but it’s quite a busy spot as the docks behind are a popular tourist destination. As long as you’re respectful to pedestrians you’re normally winning.
