On Saturday, 20 Twenty, the Scottish BMX Mailorder shop put on a jam at the Transition Extreme skatepark in Aberdeen. The place was rammed full of locals and severa crews from the South made the trip up. James Hitchcox and the guys from Zeal BMX tok the sensible option and flew from Luton while the Seventies team including Mark Love, Dan Lacey, Niki Croft, Bas Keep and Derek Strickland drove by van... We've been on a trip with the Fit Olde English team for the magazine which includes newcomer Alex Kennedy along with Scott Ditchburn and Dakota Roche who flew over just for this jam!

Yesterday was pro qualifying at FISE 2008 in Montpellier, France. Nearly a hundred riders graced the street course with attempts to qualify for the finals but the top ten turned out in the following order starting from first place. Mark Webb, Daniel Dhers, Mike Spinner, Alessandro Babbero, Dave Mirra, Ali Whitton, Ben Hennon, Harry Main, Bruno Hoffman and Chase Hawk. They join another ten riders for the finals which take place at 7pm tonight

FISE Day One!

Yesterday at FISE was a qualifying day for the Braun CruZer tour and the Ametur dirt. Most of the rider rode the street course for the afternoon and hung around Montpellier. There are some crazy spots to ride here... Daniel Dhers took a bad crash while riding the street course after colliding with another ride mid air. He looked badly hurt but he is tough so we will see.
The largest controversy yesterday was during the high air comp. The two contenders, Chase Hawk and a young French kid both went way over three meters. The problem was that the contest photographers photos showed the French guy higher when most people though Chase went higher. This sparked a huge crowd of photographers trying to show the judges their own pictures. Chase did five or six 3 meter plus airs to satisfy the judges and in the end they called it a tie.

Timeline - Mike Miller

I've tried to write an introduction for Mike Miller a few times now and it just doesn't seem easy to sum him up. He's the sort of rider you see and then tell your mates about, but they don't understand because they haven't seen him ride... I'm not sure what it is about him, he's one of the few riders who can turn up and make everyones just sit still and watch. I'm sure that's not his intention but he rides a bike how it should be ridden. I'm not alone in this theory, many brands have tried to get a piece of Mike only to be knocked back, currently he is sponsored by Proper Bike Co, Eastpak, Aversion, New Era and Lotek and lives at home in Basingstoke, England.

Last year was the first time most people had heard of Matt Priest. The relatively quiet trail rider from Cambridge rode at most of the big comps last year and did pretty well, getting to travel to Europe over the summer and getting hooked up by Vans, Segment, Volume and Demolition. Here is a bit more about him..

Bruce Crisman blew minds last year when he released Facad, a clothing/video project. Shortly after, the rider from the video got hooked up and Bruce's partner took control of the company taking it in another direction. Bruce spent the next year traveling, spending lengths of time in both England and Brazil. He's now started his own production company, No Run Up's and is working on his first project, Shola BMX. Bruce is currently in Brighton filming for the Brighton Aint Ready DVD so we gave him a quick calll to find out more..

Back in issue 110, Zoo York ran an advert showing a bunch of the USA contest crew rocking Stephen Murray T-shirts. Stephen doesn't ride for ZY and never has, so for a company to spend money advertising is a noble thing to do. We wanted to know a little more so we sent US team manager NArdelli a few questions.
