5 THINGS: Dennis Enarson

Words and photos by Robin Pearson

Dennis Enarson is a very productive individual. Just look at his 2015 Round Up to see how much he can get done in a year – he’s unstoppable! When I visited him last year to shoot his Ride UK Interview, we came away with more than enough photos after the first few days. By the end of the trip we had photos coming out of our ears… You know what I’m saying – the dude rides on an untold level of professionalism and productivity.

This photo was sat on the ‘maybe pile’ for his interview and never ended up getting used, but I thought there were a few little stories behind the image that were worth mentioning. Read on…

Dennis wanted to T-bog this gap, but didn’t realise until we got there that there was a big crack a few feet from where the stairs started. This made the gap way harder to ride than he thought.

Every time Dennis took a run up, his loyal dog Rudy ran alongside him. I think this was pretty distracting so Vinnie Mayne ended up having to hold Rudy and keep him chilled while Dennis concentrated.

Doeby Huynh was right next to Dennis, filming fisheye. I shot this photo on a tripod so that when Doeby had moved from his filming position, I could shoot another photo and then edit him out of the final image.

“I ended up bailing on it after like the 5th time bitching out on the T-bog and both my feet went numb for a little bit, plus my bike hit Doeby’s 2nd angle camera. That scared me pretty good and I decided it wasn’t worth it with the stupid crack making it way sketchier then it should have been…”

We went on with the rest of the day and left this gap T-bog as ‘the one that got away’. Later on, we were going through photos and realised there was this shot of one of the hops, which Dennis was pretty happy with. Bonus!
