S&M Black Bike
S&M recently celebrated their 20th Anniversary at their headquarters in SoCal in finest style: trails sessions at Sheep, followed by partying hard into the early hours at S&M with free beers for pretty much everyone – yards from the very same machine shop that hand-builds frames such as this one; the revised Black Bike. This year’s model is refined, lighter, yet still retains the feel and look of a classic S&M model. Both the midsize bottom bracket and headtube are post-weld machined, rear wishbone, smaller dropouts, S&M shields stamped almost everywhere (so, no need for graphics), removable gyro tabs, and brakes under the seatstays. 5.2lb, four lengths available, and only in ‘BBQ Black’, which is so black it’s like the inside of a coalmine with the lights turned off. Perfect.
