Fit Bike Co - Fitlife

Fitlife is a classic. It’s a classic now, and it’ll be a classic in the future, and it’s one of only a handful of DVDs that you’ll still be watching when you’re 50. When your grandkids say to you “Grampa, what did you do for fun when you were younger?” you’ll pull out a faded old disc, sit them on your knee and push the ‘play all’ button. Fitlife captures the essence of BMX through pure BMX. It doesn’t rely on audio narration, lifestyle clips or flashy gimmicks, it simply shows what some of today’s most influential riders have been up to on their bikes over the past few years. In a world that increasingly places more and more emphasis on image and less and less on substance, it’s refreshing to see such a raw release. Don’t get me wrong, it’s by no means shoddy in its production, it just has no need to hide behind any type of façade – she looks stunning without makeup so she doesn’t bother wearing any. Chase Hawk, Van Homan, Justin Inman, Brian Foster, Chase Dehart and Mike Aitken all have awesome full-length sections along with mix sections from New York and California and a split Edwin Delarosa/Tom White section to finish. After some relatively calm opening credits comes a short but to-the-point crash section that immediately gives an indication of the amount of effort the riders put in: if they risked crashing like that then you know they wanted this to be good. On paper the cast list looks intimidating, the preconceptions it conjures are massive, it sounds too good to be true, and may cause you to take a sceptical ‘surely they can’t all have amazing parts’ approach. But they can – and they do. By being sincere, by showing it as it is, by not cutting corners, and by putting in all their effort, Fit have come up with a classic BMX DVD.
