I really wish completes were this dialled when I was younger, it would have saved my friends and I countless hours of trying to beg, borrow and steal replacement parts from each other for whatever we’d broken that day. The only complete BMX bike’s available at that time were either from Halfords, or Argos. You get the picture. So anyway, the Fit Pledge is placed at the entry level of Fit’s 18 strong, collection of complete bike,s and I must say, it’s appearance belies this position in the lineup. The Burgundy colour scheme with black and chrome parts looks the business, especially with the gum tyres and matching grips, the graphics are clean cut and it’s just an all round great looking bike. The top tube is pretty small at 20” so would suit a shorter rider, or someone who loves a snappy geometry, and the tyres are both 2.3 giving plenty of shock absorption. The price is kept down by non-removable lugs, non-sealed hubs and a press cut chainring (although the chainring does look pretty cool still) so all in all, the Pledge is bang on for the money!

What’s their history and where are the brand from?
Coming out of Santa Ana, California in 2000 Fitbikeco has become one of the biggest brands in BMX, Offering their team of legendary riders, Top of the line US made frames & Components, high quality complete bikes, clothing & merchandise.

What do the manufacturers/Distro say about it?
The 2016 range of Fits now include two new models of bike, the Pledge & Prospect, Entry level bikes at an affordable price but still with the high quality frame & components.

What’s the bike intended for and who is it aimed at?
The Pledge is intended for younger riders looking for their first BMX to ride street & park. A high quality affordable bike that they can trust to last.

What is the geometry like and what is the weight of the bike?
The geometry on the pledge is short and very responsive like most aftermarket street frames available . Ideal for new riders to learn the basics that they can take onto future frames they choose.

Is there anything that could be improved on the bike?
It’s spot on for the money, the only thing would be removable lugs to give a clean brakeless look.

I won't lie, I thought this would take a few goes. How wrong I was. With his jumper tied to his bars, Jack one banged this three over the stump clean as you like. I'm just glad I got the pic!
