Weymouth Jam, last weekend

Last Saturday was the Dead End Bikes / 5710 Weymouth Skatepark Jam, and here's a quick repo on the jam - more to come in an upcoming issue of the magazine of course, but here's a few snaps from my phone...

Weymouth Skatepark is just across the road mere yards from the beach, so with the sunshine out there isn't a better place to be than at the 5710 Jam on a September Saturday during an Indian summer. It seems everyone else thought so too, because the skatepark was RAMMED. All the local big dogs were riding, and a few others had travelled from far and wide - this jam was packed...

The ramps looked good too.

Dead End / 5710 had a booth out...

Organiser Leroy from Dead End / 5710 kept everything running smoother than a round at the Dew Tour. Luke Marchant (in the background) was killing this place: no-one does better spine 360s. Other notables were his bro Jack, Phil Aller, Paul Jefferies, and Harry Main spinning like a dervish all over the place (540 flair tyretaps in the bowl corner) and about a hundred ams goin nuts. Like I said, it was packed. Even the barbecue ran out of burgers before midday.

A good line-up of crackin live bands playing music all day long is about eight-million times better than plugging an iPod into a PA system and pressing 'play'. I guess you could call this area "backstage".

More from this jam in an upcoming issue of the magazine... but thanks must go out to the following people for making it happen:
