4Down Distribution are contiunuing with their 'Summer of Madness' by sending the UK & Ireland S&M team from Hastings to Glasgow. All three of the trip's including Fit, FBM and this one will be available on DVD in October. Riders include: Joe Fox, James Cox, James Newrick, Cleggy, Amos Burke, Donnacha Carrol and Lima.

Dean Hearne has been running the FBM, S&M and Fit guys around the country this 'summer', so I thought I'd ask him a few questions about how he's dealing with it all.

You’ve been in charge of roadtrips before but now it seems like your running the show. What do you do in regards to these trips?
What don’t I do! Hahha, nah, I have a role not to dissimilar to a shepherd, a hunter gatherer, It ranges from driving, filming, motivational speeches, tidying up after everyone, loading and unloading the van, and answering a 1000 questions per minute... it all comes with the territory...

You’re about to go on your third trip of the summer, does it get annoying being away from home all the time?
You cant really call getting to travel annoying, there are times where I wish I had a few more days in between, to hang with the missus, and just to get on top of things with work etc, a couple solid days in the office ya know, ask me in another 3 weeks after megatour.. !! haha

The S&M team has had a bit of a turnaround recently, can you run through the UK team and say a little bit about each guy and why he is on the team?
Not really a turnaround as such, we just added a few dudes to the team when we took over distribution for it. Each guy brings something to the table, The classics such as Fids and Amos, you got Newrick, Cox and new boy Joe Fox laying it down on the streets, and all rounders Lima and Donnacha, so it is just a sweet mix really.. Most of them have been around for a while, and ain’t jumping on no new bandwagon, just like S&M really!

You’re leaving today, where are you planning on going and when, I’m sure plenty of riders would fancy meeting up with you guys...
Were heading to the South west first, cornwall, plymouth way, then along to the 2&8 Stephen Murray benefit jam, then up to ol scotland, all subject to change depending on the great british summer..

Do you find going on different trips with different riders makes you get better on your bike?
It makes me get better a filming....

What happened the last time you were on a trip with Joe Fox?
Ummmmm is that a trick question? He was on the fit trip in london, where he proceeded to hook us up with plenty of local knowledge..

Dean says all these trips make him a better filmer, but he's still getting better on his bike...
