Props Euro Megatour - Day 2

September 07, 2007 @ 6:50 AM by Robin Fenlon

Nathan Williams in front of a big bridge that isn't the big bridge we thought it was. This is.

Today started off with a horrible awakening from the Formule 1 hotel manager... After getting to bed at 6am we were on the road by 12. The driving seems to take forever, not sure why that is, plenty of stopping at garages and everybody buys needless food proucts. We tried to put some fizzy mentos in a coke bottle but that failed. Urban legend?

Biggest Babybell ever? Healthy service station grub...

Got to Barcelona around 4pm and quickly found a hotel, we're staying in Hotel Paral.lel if any Spanish riders are reading. First spot we encountered was less than two minutes ride from the hotel. Some small but pretty fun ledges and blocks. It's the spot with the old pipe in the middle. Pretty sure it's on every video featuring Barca I've ever seen. Stuff got going quickly, Nathan busted out some hang 5 combos then rode round the corner and did some stuff on the ledges. It's all about the lines at this spot, or so I'm told.

He's not that messy. Ricky Feather.

We rode here for a good few hours, Ruben Forte must have watched the Etnies video and sparked a gap to street wallride before pumping up his tyre with the street pump. I got 3 punctures today, probably the most demotivating thing that could happen. Being in the van for nearly 3 days then not being able to ride round the corner without fear of a 10 minute innertube changing session then the onslaught of a small pump.. Urgh. Yeah I'm bitter.

Ruben Forte?

After this we grabbed some falafel and oggled at some Barca wildlife, then it was on to the big hip. Alex was the best here without a doubt, 540's a 720 and loads of clicked tables, turndowns and toboggans. Never realized how dialled he was. We got to speak to loads of wacky people as the spots on a busy thoroughfare. A guy crashed his Harley into the back of a car just before we left that had us chuckling as he obviously had downed a good few beers before straddling it..

Steve Debusk, Toboggan on the big ole hip!

Kye telling Props that, "It was seriously the most amazing day ever man."

Then we found this wacking great bug!

Back to the ledge spot for some interviews after buying some street beers from the tenders. They keep the beers in drains to keep them cool, and they're super cheap, 5 euros for 6 beers... Feather is a haggler though, he got his for 4.50.

Alex Valetino. The best in show today...

Thankfully no more Jambon and Frommage sandwiches, thats all they seem to sell at these service stations. Ham and Cheese! Todays diary by Adrian Mole...

Should be more riding footage tomorrow as all we did today was sit in a sardine tin for hours.
