Peg Leg and Kickers

The last time Steve and co built a ramp in the office car park here in Poole, it was a giant. In fact, it was Backyard's old jumpbox - which was Mike Miller's favourite piece of kit to ride, so we built it for him for his interview in the August issue. Now, when creating the next cover photoshoot for the December issue, Steve decided to go one step further. Check out this beauty - Nate Wessell's got nuthin' on this one, just look at it:

PEG LEG DVD

I got the chance to get a copy from Devin Fiel of the just released Peg Leg video. All I knew at first, is that those dudes have a cool underground clothing company and a website with a bunch of sweet short vids. I'm certainly not going to tell you who's who or who's a badass; but what I'm sure, is that it's the first time I saw a good video with so many riders from such diverse background connected to make a video project happen. From Canada, to the North East coast, California, Ohio and so on, and so on... BMX is all about distance and motivation to connect your bike to a spot or spend some time with a friend.

Let’s say that's it's a street only video with almost only four peg riders that are all about the grind. I guess if you're a flatlander or a trails fanatic, you don't need to go on to their website to grab a copy – www.peg-leg.net – It's real riding and you can definitely feel that lines and big gaps are not the pros’ sole domain any more. Most of the riders’ sections have real original stuff. Especially when you see Alex Platt's run and his last gap. If you've been to that Barcelona spot, you'll know how much respect this kid deserves. Gaps are for kids! —David Lombard
