December 13, 2006 @ 4:38 PM by Greg
It’s that time of year where flatland contests are a rarity, the bitching goes away (for the most part) and everyone just rides – who said winter was such a bad thing…
Sam Foakes Down Under
Sam Foakes has put the bowl of shredded wheat aside and has been a busy boy before he disappears back to Loughborough Uni, filming a video section for up and coming Aussie DVD Here Comes The Sun produced by Stewart Munro, which features a heavy line up consisting of, Alexis Desolneux, Brandon Fenton, Cory Fester, Simon O’Brien, Seppl, Frank Lucas, OG Marton – this one will be a definite to add to your DVD collection. Stewart’s waiting on a few riders’ footage right now, and it will be available at the end of the year, review in this mag. For now check out Sam on the new Flat TV trailer, flattv-bmx.com.
Phil Dolan had this to say, “That bloody Sam Foakes is learning too fast! Can’t someone remind him flatland is supposed to be hard?”…
Mr Buff is also planning to organize a flatland contest/show at his university in Loughborough soon, more details as they arrive.
Ten Cross-foot Brakeless Whiplashes?
Source of much internet discussion, Martti Kuoppa should be recovering from his broken rib by the time you read this, and finishing off his video part for the eagerly anticipated KGB DVD – already talk of ten brakeless cross-foot whiplashes, WTF…
Sick Hook-Up News

Inertia / Musssewhite Update
Lee Musselwhite has been a busy guy since the last issue; he has left his long time shoe sponsor Duffs for a new hook up with Odessa Footwear, joining Pete Hollinger and a team that’s getting bigger by the minute. Lee had this to say about the switch, “I feel now is the right time to move on. I’ve known the guys at Odessa for some time now as they are based in my home town of Torquay, a good mate of mine and head shoe designing honcho there, Olly B, has presented me with some awesome opportunities and the fact that I can communicate in person on a day to day basis is really important for me. Odessa is sweeping the globe right now look out for a pair in a store near you!”. Lee has been working hard on this new project but has kept it quite low key for the past few months. He has started up a sub division of Inertia Bikes in the form of: www.inertiaBMXshows.com – The word from Lee is, “Basically Inertia BMX Shows are demonstrations performed on a BMX bike with out the aid of ramps or any equipment. The show consists of one or more highly skilled Professional Flatland riders and an MC/Beat Boxer. The rider performs a unique display of twists and spins while our MC/Beat Boxer works the crowd to its full potential and creates an unbelievable atmosphere for a stunning show spectators will not forget!” – check out the site if you are interested about making a booking…
As if that’s not enough from Lee, he is also in talks with DFTU about organising a huge flatland event, in Circle Of Balance style – more news soon on this…
Plenty going with Inertia lately, Keelan Philips has new pegs and new handlebars to his specs in the works, as well as that Keelan is also working on a video magazine.
