Mitch Yeates gets a signature Simple frame

December 20, 2007 @ 3:14 PM by Robin Fenlon

Niels Thanild from Simple Bikes let us know that they've just got prototypes of Mitch Yeates new frame in stock... I didn't know anything about it so here is what Neils told me...

The Weaver...

Mitch Yeates is getting a signature frame. What's it called and why?
Niels Thanild: Yes, he is. it's called the Weaver. Don't really know why... Mitch is the Weaver!

Who did the graphics?
Mike DeWit did the graphics.

Who is he?
Mike does a lot of stuff for us, done all the tshirts, and a bunch of other things coming. Mike is the graphical designer at Vans in California, so chances are that if you have seen a Vans Tshirt, it's done by Mike.

What are the frame dimensions?
Hopefully good. Well, it will come in various TT sizes, 20.6, 20.8, 21 and 21.2. It will be trimmed down where possible, thin and slim tubing, and we are testing out a few little detailed ideas too.

When is it going to be finished?
Samples are just ready now, and if things work out it will be in the shops in the summer. If not Mitch will be on the Sample bike co team a little longer. Haha.

Just the blue colour or a few others?
Yeah, the blue/teal and a greenísh combo too.

Describe Mitch in 5 words...
Whoah, that's difficult...
Really nice bloke, very good bike rider, world traveller, curious in all the right ways, my very good friend.
