Mirraco’s new “magalogue”

September 07, 2007 @ 12:40 PM by Mark Noble

From an industry standpoint, I love this time of year - and have done since I first got into BMX at the dawn of 1981. It's the time of year when the new bikes come out, brands reveal their bikes for next year, what's new, what's improved, new graphics, new parts, new bikes, new everything. It's the time of year when company owners start pulling their new catalogues off the printing presses - and despite the onslaught of interweb media and online catalogues, you still can't beat having a paper version in your hands. It can also set apart the brand from the others - all the different page layouts, page sizes, paper types, colour, b/w, design, feel... I collect 'em all at Interbike. Last year, catalogue highlights were Brian Castillo's Volume/Demolition magalogue (a combo of a magazine and a catalogue), and David Quesada's excellent Fly Bikes book (get your hands on one at a bike shop). A few 2008 catalogues are hitting our office now - and the new Mirraco magalogue just hit my desk. It's part 2008 catalogue (the new range looks impressive - we will have a preview on this site soon) and part magazine focussing on the Mirraco riders - features on Dave Mirra of course, Mike Spinner, Dave Rytell, Mike Laird, Nigel Sylvester (check his new signature frame, which is called the Chocolate), Rob Wise, Ryan Guettler (who is featured in the October issue of our magazine), plus others - and it's a good read. Try and get your hands on one at a Mirraco dealer near you...
