Yup, Matthias took the top spot amongst all the heavy hitters who showed up to ride FG7 in Holland last weekend - Sam Foakes made the trip, as did 14 Japanese riders who made the trip halfway round the world for it - Flatground 07 is THAT good these days - story will be forthcoming in issue 108 of Ride BMX, but for now, here's the official word:
This weekend the seventh edition of Flatground took place in Amsterdam. It was the French young gun Matthias Dandois who took the win over Terry Adams from the USA in a must-see battle. During the weekend riders from all over the world came to Amsterdam to enjoy a true BMX Flatland event with loads of inspiring riding.
The 12 riders who made it to the finals showed that they deserved their spot. The new battle system introduced at the previous Flatground once more entertained the crowd and riders with mind-blowing riding. Other highlights of the weekend were the 14 Japanese riders, showing that Japan has some great diversity within the BMX Flatland world.
