So we came across this gem online and thought we’d share it with you lot! Now, I’m all for safety and being road safe but when it comes to riding BMX this would take all of the fun out of a pissed ride home with the lads. I’m not condoning riding your bike drunk by any means, but it’s a bloody good laugh!
So yeah, onto the product…
It’s a breathalyser bike lock which is intended to prevent drunk cycling.
And here’s how it works;
“The lock connects to the user’s smartphone and once they have breathed into the sensor, it will display the amount of alcohol detected within an app. Fail the test and it will send a text message to whoever has been nominated in advance. This will then allow the concerned friend to – in the words of the Alcoho-Lock website – “convince them with the power of love.”
Top and bottom of it is, I can’t really imagine many BMXers taking this idea on as the majority of people I know who ride enjoy a bloody good drink and sometimes happen to have their bikes with ’em. Still a pretty cool idea for the daily commuter who is worried about operating a bicycle under the influence.
