2012 Round Up – Robin Pearson

Robin Pearson gave us his 2012 round up. It’s been a good year for one of our best dudes. He managed to bag a couple of covers while traveling far and wide documenting the BMX world.

What one rider stood out for you in 2012?

Matt Priest. I spent quite a while working on the interview with him that appeared in issue 169 and it was a good old time. He’s a rad individual. Getting to know Priesty really well, hanging out with him and his mates, shooting at the trails and working on the whole project behind the cover shot, all the riding and partying, it was a fucking blast.

What one event stood out for you in 2012?

I’m gonna say Rebeljam 2012 because the whole event was such a pleasure to be involved with. It was a great chance to see friends and hang out with those who you don’t see often enough, then party hard and have an adventure. The location was obviously stunning, the rider list was stacked, the course was awesome… Andy Zeiss and the rest of the dudes organising it did an incredible job.

What one moment stood out for you in 2012?

One particular moment on Ride To Glory this year stood out for sure. I wrote about it at length in the mag – it was the Stay Strong team’s mission into a concrete full pipe underneath a reservoir. That was a seriously crazy and memorable experience. To top it off Stay Strong won RTG this year, earning me my first ever front cover photo, so I’ll always look back on that dark, wet, frog-ridden moment fondly.
