1. What is your very first memory of BMX?
Probably going to this racetrack called the Powder Monkey and watching BMXers race mountain bikers, and seeing Stodge eat shit trying to go through these little doubles during his race.
2. How did you feel when you got your first bike – do you have the same feelings now when you set up a new bike?
I don’t think I have ever set up a full new bike, but I still love getting new parts so long as they make my front end higher.
3. What was your first bike like?
A full chrome Heavy Tools Ruler.
4. What is your latest bike like?
A hand-me-down 20 inch Federal Hamilton with schlemm bebbs, easiest bike to 360 ever.
5. When and what was the first time you saw a rider do something amazing on a bike?
Defo seeing my brother doing massive no-foot one-handers over a box jump at Mount Hawke, or Tom Roberts cannoning down rails after riding for six months.
6. When and what was the last time you saw a rider do something amazing on a bike?
Any number of tricks on the new NSF3 video, or in person probably Tom Roberts jumping the biggest double set at 100mph.
7. If you hadn’t discovered BMX, what do you think you’d be doing now?
I think I’d be doing the same stuff without BMX, but I’m sure my group of friends and the places I have been would be a lot smaller.
8. When it comes to riding, do you go for style or tricks?
Well you can’t have style without tricks so…
9. Do you have to work on progression, or does it just come naturally to you?
I try to just let it happen naturally, I don’t want to train on my bike.
10. What state of mind enables you to progress your riding?
Definitely seeing other people do new things totally inspires me to try and progress.
11. What one rider has influenced you the most?
It’s got to be my brother, he just learns shit too quick.
12. What goes down if you have a bad day?
It rains, but you go out ‘cause you really want to ride, then you deck it trying an easy trick and you ride home wet. Or it rains and you just stay in the house all day getting cabin fever.
13. When was the first time you tried something big/burly/scary?
The first rail I tried I ended up feebling it by mistake…
14. When was the last time you scared yourself on your bike?
I don’t scare myself enough as I should, but I did a decent 180 bars in London that scared me enough.
15. What was the last bike part you bought?
New tyres and a new front wheel.
16. What is the greatest BMX product in the last ten years?
I don’t really know, I like the effort that G-Sport makes with all his products and Mosh’s wood stuff looks cool…
17. If you could choose two riders to go riding with daily, who would they be?
Tom Roberts and Mathew Morgan.
18. How would you describe your riding?
Shootin’ the bs and whips to frame.
19. What is your favourite type of riding?
Warm weather street riding.
20. Describe an ideal day…
Wake up early and it’s actually dry and warm outside, Rhys and Newrick are staying at out house, have a good session at Millhouse’s, then ride new street with the Hate House Homies, come home and watch NSF1 and 2 with Mossy-added commentary, get drunk with everyone and lift some randoms at Corp.
