Zoo York’s Bomb Down Broadway

Zoo York put on a race called Bomb Down Broadway this past Sunday in New York City. Basically it comprised of about a hundred dudes on BMX bikes only, racing down the city streets from Union Square to the Brooklyn Banks, and the first thirty people who got a bracelet at the Banks went on to race from the Banks, over the Brooklyn Bridge and to The Post (Edwin Delarosa's new shop) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It was a f-ing fun as hell time, though my lungs were killing me by the time I got to the Banks; I haven't pedaled that hard for that long of a stretch since, I don't know- maybe when some cops were chasing me for dozens of blocks after I ran a red light during my NY messenger days like 18 years ago? Maybe. I do know my body was pissed, though. There's too many stories to write here, so I put up some random p/s photos from the experience below.
The guy on the left had an entry bracelet, on; not sure if he actually rode in the race though.
The infamous Blackman made an appearance, and hopped over the front end of a BMW in the race. He had a camera mounted on his bike; can't wait to see that footage.
The winner (I have no idea what his name is), and 2nd place finisher Darryl Nau of Blacken, celebrating with their $1 bill stacks.
Vinnie Sammon threw a bunch of dollar bills into the crown and this is the resulting scramble.
Zoo York's Ruel "Wormz" Smith scored some loot with a top ten finish.
This was the scene in front of The Post, Edwin Delarosa's new shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, after the race was over.
NYC's finest showed up, and shut down the festivities. Having fun is illegal, you know. Luckily, after it cleared out a bit, everyone was still able to chill some more in front of The Post into the night.
Animal and MirraCo's Nigel Sylvester walked away with a stack of bills after holding down a top ten spot.
