current lack of thought in bmx??

Where have all the thinkers in BMX gone? It would seem the younger generation of bmxers these days are happy to pick tricks off the shelf as it were, without a second thought as to what they are doing, maybe that’s a good thing in some ways (at least people are riding), but for sure its bad in others. Are you one of the many kids that’s jumped on the hang five bandwagon, then just forgot about what else you could do with your bike, or do you have to wait for the lastest props to see what’s cool to learn.
What annoys me today is that kids are incredible on their bikes, the bike control the younger generation have could be used in a much more productive way, and much more enjoying for sure. This lack of thinking within bmx currently seems to be catching on with pro riders as well…
Bmx is crying out for more thinkers, some one to paint a different picture on what could be done, Bruce Crisman’s effort on the facad dvd is groundbreaking for sure (in terms of street riding), so please lets see more riders who don’t ride with no gloves and gloves in their back pocket, never ride flatland, but learn hang fives/hang nothings then nothing else, maybe wait for Cranmer or Doyle to learn a new trick….Are there no new tricks? I don't think so.......Ah bmx, food for thought…. Love it…
